Job Summary

Build, deploy, and operate critical production systems for Arista’s Engineering Productivity team, focusing on scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and security. Monitor and improve developer experience, automate away toil, and enhance alerting and incident response runbooks. Triage platform and infrastructure issues, collaborate with product development teams to remove workflow bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvements through postmortems and best practices in hybrid cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

•Build, deploy, and safely operate critical production systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and security.
•Monitor and enhance developer experience across services, including improving alerts and automated alert handling.
•Create and maintain incident response runbooks and write postmortem documents to prevent repeat incidents.
•Triage platform/infrastructure issues, help software engineers during triage, and engage with third-party vendor support as needed.
•Plan and communicate maintenance windows and work with product development teams to identify and resolve infrastructural bottlenecks.

Key Requirements

•BSc Computer Science or Engineering + 3 years’ experience, MS Computer Science or Engineering + 3 years’ experience, or equivalent work experience.
•Knowledge of Go, Python, or shell scripting to implement medium-complexity automation workflows.
•Knowledge of Linux/UNIX from an administration and debugging perspective.
•Hands-on experience operating software systems (infrastructure and complex applications) at scale, including server provisioning from storage and networking perspectives.
•Experience with infrastructure-as-code and strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills.
