Key Responsibilities

  • •Create and implement the strategy for Postdoctoral Affairs, aligning priorities with OFEPA faculty excellence and MBZUAI’s research university goals.
  • •Liaise with divisional leadership to gather governance input, ensure guideline alignment across divisions, and convene/post in committees or advisory channels.
  • •Coordinate compliant postdoctoral appointment processes with Academic Appointments, HR, Immigration, and manage orientation integration with HR onboarding.
  • •Develop and deliver postdoctoral career development programming, including mentoring structures, IDP oversight, and support for PIs and supervisors.
  • •Maintain data dashboards, track outcomes and next-position/employer placement, and keep toolkits/templates/SOPs current for consistent execution across the office.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 8–12 years of experience in academic research environments, including experience supervising or managing postdoctoral researchers.
  • •Demonstrated experience in academic governance, policy development, or research administration within a research-intensive institution.
  • •Experience in higher education leadership roles supporting faculty and research personnel.
  • •Familiarity with international research ecosystems and postdoctoral career pathways.
  • •Master’s degree in higher education administration, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; doctoral degree preferred.
