Job Summary

Lead Credit Controls Management work by partnering with data scientists, quantitative analysts, business analysts, software engineers, and project managers to strengthen Capital One’s credit environment. Develop processes to detect weaknesses in credit policy implementations, evaluate and defend decision-making systems, and leverage Python, R, Conda, AWS, and SQL to uncover insights from large datasets. Build custom tools for analysis and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

•Partner cross-functionally to assess the soundness of the credit environment and generate new credit insights to improve underwriting standards.
•Develop new processes to identify weak spots in credit policy implementations with higher confidence than existing methods.
•Assess, challenge, and sometimes defend state-of-the-art decision-making systems with internal and regulatory partners.
•Use Python, R, Conda, AWS, and related tools to reveal insights hidden in large volumes of data.
•Build and extend machine learning and statistical toolsets, including custom software tools for data and business analysis, and communicate results to diverse audiences.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering).
•At least 6 years of work experience in business analysis.
•Experience working on large data processes.
•5+ years of experience in SQL and Python programming.
•Proficiency in econometric and statistical techniques such as hypothesis testing and regression modeling.
