Key Responsibilities

  • •Redesign and implement how observability works across the software stack for visibility into state, performance, reliability, and user experiences.
  • •Build data collection in code, then normalization, routing, processing, and querying/visualization pipelines.
  • •Combine analytics engines and vendors to predict incidents and enable rapid resolution when issues occur.
  • •Use open standards (OpenTelemetry/Semconv) and open-source or vendor tools to deliver scale-appropriate observability.
  • •Create leading-indicator capabilities and correlate infrastructure, CI/CD, experimentation, and load-test events with logs and time-series data for fast root-cause identification.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
  • •Strong software engineering focus with experience building and operating shared production services and frameworks.
  • •Understanding observability principles across metrics, logs, events, and traces, including where each applies.
  • •Experience with one or more of: OpenTelemetry, OLAP databases, and/or developer-facing tools/libraries/frameworks.
  • •Comfort building in cloud-native environments (AWS or GCP) with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code, plus strong written and verbal communication.
