Job Summary

Build and enhance virtual CPU and memory technology for the VMware Cloud Foundation platform. Work with bleeding-edge CPU virtualization features (VT-x/AMD-V), interrupt and memory virtualization/management, and low-level OS kernel internals. In your first months, ramp up on a specialization area such as CPU instruction set virtualization, confidential computing, monitor architecture modernization, hardware accelerators, power-aware compute, or guest timekeeping.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain and develop the virtual CPU and memory aspects of the virtual machine platform used to run guest operating systems.
•Design and deliver virtualization monitor features that support new processors or enhancements to the virtual machine monitor architecture.
•Contribute to implementation of CPU instruction set updates in a virtualization context.
•Work on memory virtualization/management features as part of monitor modernization efforts.
•For more senior roles, help define the design roadmap and lead technical efforts driving other engineers.

•Proficiency in x86_64 CPU architecture.
•Must have legal authorization to work in the US.
