Lead the architecture, buildout, and operations of Binance’s greenfield colocation data center, from rack layout and network topology through on-prem Kubernetes. Establish hybrid-cloud interconnect to public cloud using VPN/Direct Connect/peering, and drive scale-out for GPU and VM workloads alongside containers while handling lifecycle, incidents, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead rack layout, network topology, and overall colocation configuration.
•Design and implement an isolated OOB management network with full security hardening.
•Coordinate with colocation and hardware vendors (servers, switches, cross-connects, uplinks, remote hands, cage/rack administration).
•Build bare-metal automation for fleet-wide zero-touch OS provisioning using MAAS/Tinkerbell/Cluster API.
•Set up and maintain production self-hosted Kubernetes clusters, owning lifecycle (upgrades, scaling, node maintenance, incident response) and writing SOPs/runbooks/post-mortems with 24×7 on-call rotation.

Key Requirements

•5+ years in data center/infrastructure/platform engineering.
•Hands-on building physical infrastructure from scratch, including rack layout, network topology, server commissioning, and coordinating cross-connects/remote hands with colo and vendors.
•Designing and operating out-of-band (OOB) management networks (BMC, IPMI, Redfish).
•Standing up and debugging production-grade self-hosted Kubernetes (e.g., CNI, CSI, storage) from scratch.
•Bare-metal automation experience with MAAS, Tinkerbell, or Cluster API, plus proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, and at least one scripting language (Python/Go/Bash).
