Job Summary

Develop and integrate climate-sensitive disease reporting and AI analytics on Ghana’s national HMIS platform. You’ll enhance surveillance by combining climate and weather data with historical epidemiological data to support early warning, risk categorization, and predictive forecasts for diseases such as malaria, cholera, and meningitis. The role also includes building capacity of national and regional managers and producing reports to evidence the impact of climate change on disease burden for policy and adaptation planning.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the design and development to integrate climate-sensitive infectious disease data and predictive modelling features into a robust, sustainable national HMIS platform.
•Integrate climate and weather data into national disease surveillance systems on the HMIS platform to improve early warning and response for climate-sensitive diseases.
•Map disease risk and suitability using climactic conditions and historical epidemiological data, including setting thresholds for risk categorization and follow-up.
•Develop predictive models and generate forecasts to support disease outbreak likelihood and geographic spread.
•Support capacity building for national and regional managers and generate evidence on climate change impacts on disease burden for policy and adaptation plans.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree or higher in health informatics or public health, with undergraduate training in Health Information/Health Informatics.
•At least 10 years’ experience managing country Health Information Systems deployment and management on a DHIS2 platform.
•Expert knowledge in DHIS2, including large-scale DHIS2 customization and implementation at country level.
•Experience designing, deploying, and managing national-level digital health solutions and translating technical requirements into business solutions.
•Proven experience developing training plans and building capacity for senior and middle-level managers.
