Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the hardware and firmware roadmap for Equipment Monitoring in-field devices, including device form factors and accessory categories.
  • •Drive end-to-end NPI execution from problem definition and sourcing through EVT, DVT, PVT, certification (FCC, PTCRB, carrier approvals, IP ratings, industrial environmental specs), MP ramp, and post-launch stabilization.
  • •Own the installed base by improving field failure/RMA rates, battery life, connectivity and positioning performance, and install success.
  • •Define and prioritize firmware features that expand device value for installed customers, including power optimization, connectivity resilience, positioning accuracy, sensor fusion, OTA reliability, diagnostics, security, and fleet-level observability.
  • •Lead the product side of device partnerships and translate customer/market signals into clear requirements via discovery, PRDs, and technical specs aligned across hardware, firmware, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and TPM.

Key Requirements

  • •6+ years of product management experience shipping IoT/telematics/tracking or connected hardware from concept through mass production and into post-launch iteration.
  • •Proven ownership of at least one full hardware NPI reaching material volume (ideally 100K+ units) through EVT/DVT/PVT/MP gates, regulatory certifications, and supplier/contract-manufacturer relationships.
  • •Strong technical fluency in battery-powered connected systems including MCUs/SoCs, power management, battery life budgeting, RF/antenna, GNSS, cellular (LTE-M, NB-IoT, 4G, 5G), BLE, and environmental ratings (IP, shock/vibration, thermal).
  • •Direct experience owning firmware roadmaps: OTA update strategy and staged rollouts, release trains, device provisioning/security, telemetry design, and observability in harsh, bandwidth- and power-constrained environments.
  • •Demonstrated field reliability ownership and the ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives influencing roadmaps without direct authority.
