Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct a comprehensive literature review of interface healing models, bonding mechanisms of thermoplastic composites, and macro-/meso simulation approaches.
  • •Implement and evaluate different modeling approaches to accurately capture the bonding zone.

  • •Validate numerical models against experimental mechanical data to judge predicted interfacial quality.

Key Requirements

  • •Enrolled full-time student (d/m/w) in aerospace, lightweight design, mechanical engineering, computational engineering, or a comparable program.
  • •Strong knowledge of composite material mechanics and non-linear finite element analysis (FEA).
  • •Experience using CAE software such as Moldflow, Moldex3D, or Inspire.
  • •First experience with 3D modeling using CATIA is desirable.
  • •Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python) and fluent German and English skills.
