Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads safely and on time over required routes while obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer for loading/unloading, following loading crew signals and assisting with loading/unloading using specialized equipment when needed.
  • •Maintain and deliver required documentation (invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other paperwork) to the appropriate office when routes are complete.
  • •Facilitate routine service checks (oil, water, gasoline, air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor; arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license appropriate for the vehicle weight.
  • •Must pass DOT physical and background and drug testing required by federal/state DOT regulations.
  • •Be at least 21 years old to operate the company vehicle.
  • •Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds and handle prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
