Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop mining and industrial cost estimates aligned to industry deliverables, including Basis of Estimate (BoE), estimating plans, assumptions/exclusions, and contingency methodologies.
  • •Prepare estimates for project phases (conceptual/scoping, pre-feasibility, feasibility, detailed design, and construction/execution) using methods appropriate to engineering deliverable maturity.
  • •Produce material/equipment/labor take-offs from mining and industrial design inputs (e.g., PFDs/P&IDs, equipment lists, plot plans, general arrangements, bulk MTOs).
  • •Establish and apply indirect and execution assumptions for mining environments (e.g., remote logistics, camp/temporary facilities, productivity factors, weather impacts, access constraints, work packaging).
  • •Conduct cost comparison and benchmarking against contractor/EPC/EPCM/vendored pricing, lead estimate reconciliation workshops and stage-gate reviews, and support cost/schedule risk assessments.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field plus 8 years of related cost estimating experience (mining/industrial preferred).
  • •Extensive knowledge of cost estimating, construction methodologies, engineering design principles, and applicable industry standards and best practices.
  • •Experience with class estimate frameworks and documenting assumptions, exclusions, contingency, and risk.
  • •Strong understanding of construction means/methods/sequencing for industrial/mining sites, including brownfield constraints and shutdown/turnaround interfaces.
  • •Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead, execute, review, and effectively present complex cost estimating assignments and projects.
