Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop maintenance plans and long-term strategies, budgets, and lifecycle plans based on inspection results and condition monitoring.
  • •Investigate and troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues, providing technical recommendations to improve reliability.
  • •Lead mechanical or multi-discipline plant projects, including research, cost analysis, and technical solution development.
  • •Write technical procurement specifications, gather bids, participate in equipment selection, and supervise contractors for scope, quality, cost, and schedule compliance.
  • •Perform condition monitoring analyses (e.g., oil and vibration), plan major maintenance activities, and support compliance with industry standards while mentoring engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Mechanical Engineering degree with Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration with APEGA or another provincial association with inter-provincial mobility.
  • •10+ years of relevant experience in thermal/gas-fired power generation or a comparable industry.
  • •Experience with maintenance planning, work scope development, and supporting outages/turnarounds/inspections.
  • •Experience preparing engineering design documentation and specifications (e.g., P&IDs, piping isometrics, design drawings) and procurement work scope documents for plant modifications.
  • •Ability to investigate equipment failures and perform root cause analysis, including interpretation of condition monitoring and recommending corrective action.
