Job Summary

Support mission-critical applications in the UK’s national payment infrastructure (FPS and CTS) within a cross-functional Scrum team. Provide second-line production support with 24/7 on-call coverage, deliver hotfixes and tooling improvements, and manage changes, releases, and fixes through governance. Help maintain Disaster Recovery capabilities, investigate incidents with root cause analysis, collaborate with third-party suppliers, and keep technical documentation and artefacts up to date.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide second-line support for mission-critical applications, ensuring adherence to service priorities and operational standards.
•Support live production environments, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rota.
•Deliver hotfixes, tooling improvements, and system housekeeping, and manage changes, releases, and fixes via governance processes.
•Support and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities, including testing and risk management aligned with corporate strategy.
•Collaborate with third-party suppliers for issue resolution and escalation to third-line support, working closely with Service Management to resolve incidents and improve performance while maintaining technical documentation.

Key Requirements

•Provide second-line support for mission-critical applications in a live production environment with 24/7 on-call rota.
•Experience with Connex and related technologies (e.g., HP NonStop, Pathway, GoldenGate, electronic file transfer, TACL, TAL, COBOL, SQL/Enscribe, Enform).
•Strong troubleshooting ability for complex systems under pressure, including investigation and root cause analysis.
•Understanding of ITIL practices for change and release management, and familiarity with Agile delivery and functional/non-functional deployments.
•Experience in financial services or payments environments, with knowledge of standards such as ISO8583, EMV, TLS, and card authentication/authorization.
