Key Responsibilities

•Produce timely, accurate, and insightful coverage of the US LNG and natural gas markets, including supply, demand and pricing dynamics, and clearly explain how these developments impact global LNG trade, pricing, and shipping flows.
•Write sharp, concise, and compelling news copy, including strong headlines and framing.
•Monitor US gas production, feed gas flows, pipeline capacity, LNG export terminals, liquefaction buildout, using Kpler and industry sources, and regulatory developments (including FERC and DOE).
•Generate original story ideas, including breaking news and exclusives, demonstrating curiosity and initiative to identify trends, anomalies, and underreported developments.
•Use Kpler data and tools to identify trends, spot anomalies, and originate data-led stories, and collaborate with reporters, analysts, and data teams to shape story angles and ensure consistent coverage across the LNG value chain.

Key Requirements

•2+ years experience in business, energy, or commodities journalism, delivering news under deadline pressure.
•Direct experience covering LNG and/or US natural gas markets, with a clear grasp of how US gas market dynamics connect to global LNG flows, pricing, and shipping.
•Strong understanding of commodities markets, including how supply, demand and pricing interact.
•Proven ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, producing a steady flow of stories in a fast-paced environment.
•An existing network of industry sources across LNG, natural gas, or energy markets, with the ability to leverage contacts to break news and validate information.
