Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain and analyze satellite imagery tools including SeaDAS and SNAP.
  • •Develop, maintain, and document batch-mode scripts for satellite data processing with ancillary data.
  • •Test and operate processing environments for past/current sensors and manage the D02 ocean color data archive.
  • •Search and download satellite/environmental data via web platforms, catalogues, and APIs (WEkEO, Copernicus CDSE).
  • •Perform satellite data assessment/comparison and time analysis, including reprojection/resampling/subsetting/mosaicking/masking and format conversion, and integrate satellite with other datasets; use QGIS for spatial analysis and map production.

Key Requirements

  • •3+ years of Python programming expertise (min. competence level 4).
  • •3+ years of Linux shell scripting expertise (min. competence level 3).
  • •Experience managing, processing, and analyzing satellite/geospatial data files (NetCDF, GeoTIFF).
  • •Experience with APIs and Earth observation data platforms; practical QGIS experience.
  • •Master’s Degree or higher; ability to work in international/multicultural teams and participate in English (B2) multilingual meetings.
