Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan, coordinate, and conduct advanced tactical training for TAO and other warfare watchstations.
  • •Deliver simulator and laboratory training using realistic tactical scenarios to assess decision-making, situational awareness, communications, and combat-system employment.
  • •Mentor students through tactical exercises, providing real-time guidance and post-exercise feedback to improve performance.
  • •Evaluate student performance against tactical, operational, watchstanding, and qualification standards, including structured debriefs.
  • •Incorporate operational experience and fleet best practices into scenarios and materials, and maintain proficiency in applicable doctrine, procedures, and watchstanding requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, training, or work/military experience.
  • •Seven (7) years of experience with the required system/process, with responsibility for teaching others in a master level training environment.
  • •Qualified TAO or equivalent experience (e.g., Anti-Air Warfare Coordinator, Ballistic Missile Defense Officer, Combat System Coordinator) on an Aegis warship.
  • •One (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy training environment, including curriculum maintenance and developing/evaluating instructional materials.
  • •Ability to support training systems/simulations and counsel students while applying Navy doctrine, tactical procedures, and watchstanding requirements.
