Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as primary defect-reduction representative during NPI by defining inspection strategy/methodology, handling setup/validation, and conducting specification audits.
  • •Monitor fab process and tool data to identify underperforming equipment (“dog tools”) and perform correlation analyses to trace defects to root cause and control excursions.
  • •Collaborate with Yield Enhancement (YE), Process Integration (PIE), and Unit Process (UP) teams to establish Best Known Methods (BKMs) and reduce SWLY defectivity.
  • •Manage FCC (Failed Chip Count) and trend monitoring plans across multiple technology nodes (including 14nm and foundry processes, as well as legacy nodes).
  • •Act as a technical point of contact for foundry customers and support knowledge transfer/technology transfer from Samsung HQ (South Korea) to local sites.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or related technical field.
  • •Minimum 5 years of semiconductor process engineering experience focused on defect monitoring, reduction, process integration, or yield engineering.
  • •Track record leading logic technology development at advanced nodes (14nm or below).
  • •Deep understanding of semiconductor manufacturing equipment (e.g., Lithography, Etch, CMP) to link defects to tool-specific root causes.
  • •Proficiency with advanced defect inspection/review tools (Bright Field, Dark Field, E-beam, Vis-edge) and analytical methods such as SPC and DOE.
  • •Proficiency in Klarity Defect (or similar analytical platforms) for defect classification and trend analysis.
  • •Strong data mining and troubleshooting to resolve yield issues independently.
