Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, optimize, and qualify weld processes and parameters across multiple welding methods, including electron beam, laser, GTAW, OTW, resistance, and GMAW.
  • •Support production operations on full-scale welded assemblies by directing production technicians, specialists, and welders on correct techniques.
  • •Partner with design, tooling, automation, and test teams to improve welded designs for manufacturing and perform root cause analysis.
  • •Set up welding qualification test campaigns and interpret mechanical testing and NDE results, working with NDE personnel on development and flight hardware.
  • •Improve process control using test and NDE feedback, set up automated welding solutions, and scope new welding technologies to improve rate, quality, and efficiency.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • •Hands-on fabrication, manufacturing, or testing experience with welded assemblies.
  • •Advanced degree in welding engineering, material science and engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or physics.
  • •Expertise in welding processes such as laser, electron beam, OTW, GTAW, and GMAW, preferably with stainless steel and nickel alloys.
  • •Understanding of weld strength testing methodologies, standards, and data acquisition systems used to make informed welding decisions.
