Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and design data center heat rejection and HVAC systems, including cooling requirements, airflow management, humidity control, redundancy, energy efficiency, and industry compliance.
  • •Select appropriate air/water-side cooling systems (e.g., fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water systems, DX systems, CRAC units, in-row cooling, and containment) based on project needs.
  • •Run internal and external CFD simulations to optimize airflow, identify hotspots, recommend design modifications, and coordinate impacts with other trades.
  • •Design HVAC systems for redundancy and fault tolerance, including backup cooling and automatic switchover/monitoring mechanisms.
  • •Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning for current and future IT equipment loads; design HVAC loads for facility admin/common areas; ensure air quality/filtration for sensitive IT equipment.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation.
  • •P.E. registration is required.
  • •Experience designing HVAC/heat rejection systems for data centers, including cooling loads and capacity planning.
  • •Knowledge of data center standards including Uptime Institute TER Standard Topology, TIA 942, and ANSI/BICSI 002 (preferred).
