Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee health & safety and environmental compliance across assigned locations, including monitoring programs and directing corrective action after incidents.
  • •Lead operational performance and best practices by overseeing operations and maintenance, ensuring production levels are met, and spearheading continuous improvement.
  • •Manage inventory and quality control by maintaining accurate inventories, monitoring yard inventories, coordinating material transfers/shipping, and implementing a documented quality control program.
  • •Forecast monthly production and manage budgeting by operating within operating and CAPEX budgets and recommending capital expenditures.
  • •Supervise facility personnel and administer internal controls by reviewing performance, interviewing staff, and ensuring internal control checklists are completed and signed off monthly.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in steel scrap yard operations with familiarity with physical operations and personnel.
  • •Ensure health & safety and environmental compliance in accordance with company, federal, and state policies, including corrective action after incidents.
  • •Maintain accurate material inventories and quality control, including handling off grade/off spec materials and storage in compliance with internal controls and SOX.
  • •Forecast monthly production and help ensure negotiated production levels are met; operate facilities within operating and CAPEX budgets and recommend capital expenditures.
  • •Supervise facility staff, monitor compliance with HR policies and union contracts, and hold a valid driver’s license to drive an automobile.
