Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan and deliver engaging Computing lessons aligned with the NCfE, developing computational thinking, programming, digital literacy, and problem-solving skills.
  • •Set high expectations for achievement and behaviour, creating a safe, inclusive, purposeful learning environment for every student.
  • •Use assessment to adapt teaching, provide meaningful feedback, track progress, and implement timely intervention.
  • •Contribute to Computing curriculum planning, assessment, and moderation, ensuring students build a strong foundation in programming, computer science, and digital technologies.
  • •Support students’ preparation for future GCSE Computer Science pathways as the secondary phase grows, while engaging fully in professional learning and quality assurance.

Key Requirements

  • •A recognised teaching qualification and a degree in Computing, Computer Science, or a closely related subject.
  • •Strong knowledge of the NCfE and experience teaching Computing/Computer Science (GCSE experience desirable).
  • •Strong programming and computational thinking knowledge with the ability to deliver practical, innovative learning experiences.
  • •A proven record of securing strong student outcomes.
  • •Excellent classroom practice, behaviour management, and communication skills.
