Job Summary

Lead Datadog’s AI infrastructure and services strategic sourcing, owning the AI spend category end-to-end across foundation models, AI APIs, and AI-enabled SaaS. Drive vendor negotiations, build seat- and consumption-based pricing models, and apply FinOps discipline to uncover savings. Partner with Engineering and Finance to translate technical trade-offs into business cases, track KPIs, and collaborate with Legal and Security for compliant execution in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the AI spend category end-to-end, developing and executing category strategies aligned to business objectives.
•Lead high-value AI vendor negotiations across foundation-model and API agreements, AI development/productivity tools, and AI SaaS pricing.
•Build pricing and consumption models and apply FinOps discipline to quantify scenarios and uncover savings.
•Partner with Engineering and Finance to turn architectural and consumption trade-offs into business cases, forecasts, and savings targets.
•Track category KPIs and market/vendor/pricing trends, then report outcomes and recommendations while coordinating with Legal and Security for compliant execution.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 128,000 - 187,000 annually

Key Requirements

•8+ years supporting procurement through strategic sourcing with a track record of category ownership and negotiated savings.
•Experience across AI software/services, SaaS, and engineering tooling, with neocloud or compute experience a plus.
•Fluency in AI spend economics, including foundation-model and API pricing and seat- and consumption-based SaaS cost drivers.
•Ability to independently lead complex, high-spend negotiations and present clear business cases and savings outcomes to senior stakeholders and Finance.
•Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and ability to become an SME in sourcing/procurement systems such as Zip.
