Job Summary

Support the plant controller by directing accounting support for the production facility. Own key controllership functions including inventory reconciliation and valuation, SOX compliance, GAAP adherence, internal order administration, and payroll and general ledger review. Drive cost accounting activities such as BOM audits, variances reporting, and reporting unusual items and operating performance metrics. Provide training and support for SAP and other systems, and lead and coach accounting department staff.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the plant controller in directing accounting support to the production facility, including cost accounting, inventory control, accounts payable, payroll, and billing.
•Maintain manufacturing, inventory, and finished goods ledgers and perform cost accounting activities.
•Protect company assets by reconciling and valuing inventory results per corporate policy and ensuring SOX and internal audit compliance.
•Administer internal order (IO) administration and ensure GAAP adherence; audit payroll distribution and review general ledger accounts at least monthly.
•Administer bill of materials (BOM) audits and corrections, distribute material/labor variances, and report variances and operating performance results to plant and corporate teams.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related) plus 3 years of professional accounting experience and/or training, or equivalent education and experience.
•Lead by training, coaching, or mentoring less-experienced staff or by managing a process or project.
•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including Pivot Tables) and knowledge of accounting, contact management, inventory, and manufacturing software.
•Strong leadership skills with a solid understanding of cost accounting concepts.
•SAP experience (preferred) and strong analytical/math skills with attention to detail.
