Job Summary

Monitor and enforce approved HSE plans across transmission line, substation, and HVDC work, helping build a proactive safety culture within AECOM’s multidisciplinary energy team. Review contractor safety documentation, verify permit-to-work and electrical safety systems, conduct inspections and audits, investigate incidents and near misses, and track leading/lagging HSE indicators. Support emergency drills, energization readiness, and delivery of key HSE reports and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

•Review contractor HSE plans, risk assessments, JSA/JHA, method statements, and emergency-response procedures.
•Monitor permit-to-work, lockout/tagout, and electrical-safety systems; inspect work-at-height, tower erection, stringing, lifting, excavation, scaffolding, and confined-space work.
•Verify competency, certification, and authorization of operators, riggers, electricians, equipment operators, and specialist personnel.
•Conduct daily inspections, planned audits, toolbox-talk reviews, safety observations, and monitor lifting plans/crane operations and exclusion zones.
•Investigate incidents/near misses and environmental events, review root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions, maintain HSE statistics, and coordinate emergency drills and energization/commissioning safety readiness.

Key Requirements

•Degree or diploma in Engineering with a recognized industrial-safety qualification.

•NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification is preferred.
•Knowledge of work-at-height, lifting, excavation, electrical-safety, and permit-to-work requirements.
