Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate and maintain ammonia screw compressor packages for refrigeration and perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • •Maintain ammonia evaporators and control stations to ensure required temperatures for USDA and company standards.
  • •Maintain ammonia condensers to support refrigeration cycle efficiency and required liquid levels.
  • •Maintain boilers and steam controls to support processing, cooking, and sanitation requirements.
  • •Conduct chemical testing, maintain ammonia vessels and liquid pumps, and complete computer-based work orders/documentation as required.

Key Requirements

  • •Currently enrolled in an Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance program (proof of enrollment required) or have one year of experience working in Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance.
  • •Alternative options: one year of classroom training from a Technical College (proof with passing grade) or graduated from a technical college with a certification in Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance.
  • •Alternative option: one year of HVAC experience.
  • •Ability to learn and use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and complete required documentation.
  • •Must be flexible with work hours/schedule and able to perform physical job requirements (including lifting up to 70 lbs occasionally).
