Job Summary

Provide comprehensive maternal care across antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum periods in a busy Abu Dhabi hospital, supervising junior staff and acting as a preceptor. Job Function: Transportation & Fleet Operations

Key Responsibilities

•Act as the lead care provider for women with uncomplicated pregnancy, coordinating the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care
•Provide routine antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care including risk assessment, recognition of complications and initiation of appropriate action
•Promote breastfeeding and baby-friendly initiatives, and ensure compliance with organisational policies
•Supervise practical nurses, junior staff and student nurses; act as preceptor when required and perform in-charge duties as delegated
•Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide patient and family-centred care and ensure discharge planning is integrated into the care plan

Key Requirements

•Current registration/licensure as a Midwife with the regulatory body (Midwifery Scope of Practice) to provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care
•Provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care for normal pregnancy including risk assessment, recognition of complications and initiation of appropriate action
•Supervise/practise as a preceptor to new staff and supervise junior staff and student nurses to ensure safe patient care
•Coordinate individualized care from first contact through discharge planning, including documentation and handover
•Promote breastfeeding and comply with baby-friendly organisational initiatives
