Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide routine and emergency medical care to partners at the workplace within WV EMT Region 8 protocols.
  • •Document all care provided and maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality of personal health information.
  • •Adhere to occupational health protocols, medical directives, and physician standing orders according to scope of practice.
  • •Support safety and compliance by reporting lost time and recordable injuries and following OSHA/workers’ compensation requirements.
  • •Perform equipment checks/calibrations as scheduled and conduct pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and safety-sensitive drug and alcohol testing.

Key Requirements

  • •Maintain current WV EMT basic certification and a current CPR/First Aid/ AED card.
  • •Provide routine and emergency medical care within the scope of WV EMT Region 8 Protocols.
  • •Be certified and efficient in performing urine drug screenings and breath alcohol collections.
  • •Understand and follow occupational health protocols, OSHA requirements (including Blood Borne Pathogens and Ergonomics), and workers’ compensation requirements.
  • •Demonstrate computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, SharePoint, and PPC programs.
