Job Summary

Join the Underground Assets and Trenchless Technology team as a Structural Engineer delivering design packages and technical assessments for underground structures, trenchless construction, temporary works and asset rehabilitation. Work across concept, detailed design and construction support with senior engineers, in a collaborative, client-facing environment on landmark infrastructure projects. 5–8 years’ experience and strong 2D AutoCAD skills are highly valued.

Job Function: Construction, Civil & Site Engineering

Key Responsibilities

•Undertake structural analysis, design and documentation for underground structures, shafts, trenchless construction methods, temporary works and related civil infrastructure packages.
•Support investigations, condition assessments and structural appraisals of existing assets affected by construction activities or rehabilitation requirements.
•Prepare design calculations, reports, specifications and technical inputs in accordance with project requirements and Australian Standards.
•Coordinate with geotechnical, civil, mechanical, construction and digital teams to develop practical and buildable design solutions.
•Provide construction-phase support, including responses to technical queries, design reviews and site-based input where required.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
•Approximately 5 to 8 years’ experience in structural engineering design and project delivery, ideally within infrastructure, water or underground structures
•Practical first-principles engineering and constructability knowledge, with the ability to develop effective designs and carry out space proofing for brownfield installations within complex existing site constraints
•Experience in reinforced concrete and steel design, structural assessment and preparation of engineering calculations and reports
•Strong 2D AutoCAD capability, including preparation of engineering sketches and drawings, is highly desirable
