Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead integration, verification, and validation of a weapon or payload module onto the Thunder platform.
  • •Direct a team of 6–8 engineers across software, electrical, and mechanical/structural disciplines.
  • •Develop module program plans, estimates, schedules, and system/architecture designs and requirements.
  • •Drive MIL STD 1553/1760 interface work plus structural mounts and support installs (wiring, cooling, power).
  • •Own module stores management and fire control logic (arm/select/release state machines and safety interlocks) and perform safe separation analysis and testing.

Key Requirements

  • •9+ years engineering experience with a bachelor’s (or 7+ with a master’s / 5+ with a PhD) in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • •Software programming or embedded systems experience (familiarity with C++, MATLAB, Python, PERL scripting).
  • •Experience integrating weapons, payloads, or avionics onto aircraft, including weapon/tactical datalinks.
  • •Familiarity with air-to-air weapons and MIL STD 1553 and Interface Control Documents.
  • •Ability to directly lead or technically direct a small multidisciplinary engineering team and design/validate safety-critical state machines and interlock logic.
