Job Summary

Support the Field concession program by managing geospatial information and centralized GIS databases in Basra. Maintain and develop GIS data to enable engineering, HSE, construction, and UXO activities, including GIS Management of Change (MOC) workflows. Produce maps and cartographic products, perform spatial analysis and conflict detection, validate UXO completion reporting, and QA/QC field survey data. Coordinate data updates, train local personnel, and deliver reports, dashboards, and automation to improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the development and execution of the Field concession program by maintaining and developing the centralized GIS database and supporting the GIS Management of Change (MOC) process.
•Process land allocation and land use requests through the GIS MOC process and prepare GIS maps, spatial datasets, and cartographic products for operational, engineering, HSE, and management needs.
•Perform GIS-based spatial analysis, conflict detection, and land use assessments to identify overlaps, constraints, and operational risks.
•Receive, verify, validate, and maintain UXO Completion Reports in the GIS database; perform verification and QA/QC of field survey data and report discrepancies.
•Use GPS/DGPS and GIS devices to survey and record boundaries and infrastructure, conduct field inspections, manage as-built and geospatial datasets in the enterprise GIS environment, and train local personnel.

Key Requirements

•Diploma or bachelor’s degree in GIS, Surveying, Geomatics, Geography, Engineering, Topography, or a related discipline; a diploma may be substituted with at least seven years of relevant GIS experience supporting oil and gas operations.
•Demonstrated experience in GIS database development, spatial data integration, geodatabase management, data automation, and web mapping applications.
•Experience with Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) / Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) or humanitarian/commercial demining geodatabases is desired.
•Technical proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and AutoCAD.
•Desirable experience with ArcGIS Enterprise/Server (v10.1+), ArcGIS Online, ArcSDE geodatabases, and relational database management systems (Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server).
