Key Responsibilities

  • •Draft, review, and negotiate agreements for intellectual property and consumer products licensing, with emphasis on trademarks/copyrights, endorsements, character appearances, sponsorships, and location-based events.
  • •Develop contract templates, playbooks, and internal guidance to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • •Identify legal and commercial risks and propose practical, business-oriented solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • •Advise senior business stakeholders throughout the licensing and commercial initiative lifecycle, including guidance on trademarks, copyrights, and other IP.
  • •Support ongoing licensing operations including brand protection/anti-counterfeiting, children's advertising/privacy compliance (COPPA/FTC/CARU as applicable), royalty audits, and licensing agreement lifecycle (renewals, terminations, defaults, and cure notices).

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 165,000 - 180,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, plus a valid license to practice law in New York State.
  • •8+ years of relevant legal experience, including meaningful experience supporting intellectual property licensing and related commercial transactions in-house and/or at a nationally recognized law firm.
  • •Proven ownership and accountability for assigned priorities, projects, and tasks.
  • •Demonstrated ability to manage up by proactively seeking alignment and communicating priorities, risks, and progress to stakeholders.
  • •Experience leveraging legal technology, including AI-assisted legal research/drafting tools (e.g., Harvey, Claude) and contract lifecycle management (CLM) and approval workflow tools; proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
