Key Responsibilities

•Build and own the cost model for modular data center products across structural, mechanical, electrical, and controls scopes.
•Produce estimates at every design release so the program knows what the product costs before it commits to build.
•Price design alternatives quickly, providing cost facts on trade-offs such as cooling configuration, electrical distribution, and skid vs. site-built scope.
•Interrogate vendor quotes line by line and build should-cost models for equipment categories that dominate unit cost.
•Reconcile estimates against actuals after each build and fold variance back into the model to improve future estimates.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 186,000 - 220,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Have personally estimated mechanical, electrical, or modular construction scopes, including takeoffs, unit pricing, vendor pricing, and a final number you stood behind when the project was won or lost.
•Have built cost models that others can run without you and that have held up.
•Have reconciled estimate versus actual and updated assumptions when the data showed you were wrong.
•Have priced options for engineers during design decisions, delivering usable numbers on tight timelines.
•Know where estimates fail (scope gaps, labor productivity, escalation, freight) and have caught these failures before they impacted a bid.
