Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment systems (e.g., electrical/brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials).
  • •Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions and perform road tests to confirm proper operation.
  • •Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation.
  • •Maintain DOT forms and Repair Orders documentation, documenting work and uploading photos via company systems and following safety, health, and environmental policies.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or alternative combination such as additional education/certification or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
  • •Meet DOT/FMCSA pre-employment background screening and DOT physical requirements; provide a current DOT medical card if applicable based on remaining validity.
  • •Be at least 21 years or older; hold a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
