Build and own security integration and detection features across Datadog’s runtime security libraries, focusing on .NET and/or Java. Take prototypes to production-hardened, operable systems that safely instrument thousands of applications. Monitor telemetry, debug cross-system issues, and drive roadmap alignment via OKRs, RFCs, and partnerships with product, backend, and frontend teams. Mentor teammates and represent Datadog in relevant security communities.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, build, and own security integrations and detections (WAF, RASP/exploit prevention, API Security, IAST, SCA) across multiple libraries.
•Take projects from prototype to deployed, correct, operable, and maintainable production systems.
•Own systems operationally by monitoring production telemetry, debugging cross-system issues, and reducing customer-facing problems.
•Shape the roadmap by defining OKRs, breaking features into components, and driving designs and RFCs for alignment across security library teams.
•Partner with product management and backend/frontend teams to deliver capabilities customers adopt, and mentor teammates to raise code quality and testing.

Key Requirements

•Expert in at least one of .NET (C#) or Java, with polyglot ability to contribute across other libraries when needed.
•Strong software-engineering fundamentals: ship modular, maintainable code with little guidance and improve code quality over time.
•Product-engineering mindset: weigh technical trade-offs against customer impact to decide what to build.
•Experience building and shipping libraries or SDKs consumed by other developers, including packaging, versioning, and backward compatibility.
•A BS/MS/PhD in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
