Job Summary

Develop and execute strategies for priority EU policy issues, shaping OpenAI’s approach and driving policy campaigns as part of the European team. Build and manage relationships across the Brussels policy ecosystem with policymakers, regulators, civil society, industry associations, and researchers to advance OpenAI’s mission. Translate complex AI concepts into practical policy relevance, prepare leaders for EU engagements, and collaborate across teams in a fast-moving environment.

Job Function: Business Development & Partnerships

Key Responsibilities

•Develop strategies and shape OpenAI’s approach to priority EU policy issues.
•Drive external policy campaigns and initiatives aligned with OpenAI’s mission.
•Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders across the Brussels policy ecosystem.
•Support analysis and engagement on complex regulatory and legislative proposals, including developing positions and supporting negotiations.
•Prepare leaders for engagements with EU officials and represent OpenAI in private and public forums.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Deep knowledge of the EU policy ecosystem, including institutions, legislative and regulatory processes, and key AI/technology policy debates.
•Experience managing relationships across the Brussels policy ecosystem with EU officials, regulators, civil society, industry associations, researchers, and experts.
•Ability to translate complex AI concepts into practical policy relevance for EU policymakers and Brussels stakeholders.
•Demonstrated ability to analyze and engage on complex regulatory and legislative proposals, including reviewing draft text, developing positions, and supporting negotiations.
•Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English, including briefing senior stakeholders.
