Ensure safety, keep the work area organized, complete maintenance tasks as issues arise, and communicate with management and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform essential hatchery functions including pulling and grading chicks, breakouts, washing trays and machines, moving buggies, cleaning, placing chickens, and setting eggs.
•Mix vaccine and dispense formaldehyde, operate embrex machines, and ensure required PPE and respirator use.
•Conduct machine checks, follow instructions, and document findings as needed.
•Start generators and complete some machine maintenance when issues arise.
•Ensure safety at all times and keep the work area free of clutter/tripping hazards while completing tasks independently when required.

•Must have 6 months of work history in the last 12 months documented within your application’s work history and/or resume.
•Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job (stand for shift, lift/push 40+ pounds, and do bending/twisting/turning, squatting, climbing, and reaching).
•Must be able to understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.
•Must be able to pull chicks, grade chicks, perform breakouts/washing trays and machines, move buggies, clean, place chickens, mix vaccine, dispense formaldehyde, run embrex machines, help with trays, and set eggs.
•Must be able to obtain lockout tagout certification, and have/pursue pallet jack and moffett license, plus follow PPE requirements including respirator use when dispensing formaldehyde.
