Job Summary

Provide Second Line of Defense oversight for Markets and Securities Services and Markets Treasury at HSBC Malaysia under Traded and Treasury Risk Management. Independently monitor traded market risk and traded credit risk exposures, challenge and escalate issues to stakeholders and executive risk committees, and support risk governance, policy implementation, and rollout of new risk systems. Stay current on market developments and emerging risks to protect HSBC Malaysia’s risk and P&L outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform traded risk management for risk assessment, capturing and monitoring key risk exposures completely, correctly and timely.
•Provide subject matter expertise support and challenge on new businesses and MSS and Markets Treasury issues or concerns.
•Monitor financial market developments, external environment changes, emerging risks, and business strategy impacts on HSBC Malaysia traded risk and P&L.
•Provide Second Line of Defense review and challenge on traded risk matters.
•Lead traded risk efforts in risk or business projects and support development of traded risk appetite limits, controls, and frameworks.

Key Requirements

•University degree in mathematics, risk management, actuarial, quantitative finance, accounting or related fields.
•5-10 years’ experience in traded risk management or ALM risk management, global markets business, and financial audit.
•Strong working knowledge of financial markets, financial instruments, and traded risk methodologies, measurements, and controls.
•Strong communication and analytical skills, with ability to influence partners across the business and regional functions.
•Proficiency in written and spoken English.
