Key Responsibilities

  • •Adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • •Provide legal support, guidance, and training on employment and human rights matters, including hiring, termination, accommodation scenarios, offer letters, workplace investigations, workplace policies, and employee relations.
  • •Advise on Canadian workplace legislation with a focus on applicable BC legislation.
  • •Advise on Canadian privacy law, including support for data breach handling and related investigations.
  • •Advise on pension law for BC-registered pension plans and other retirement plans, including support with preparation of triennial assessments; support employment, pension, and privacy matters related to M&A, divestitures, and joint ventures.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 150,000 - 185,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent legal qualification is required.
  • •Minimum 5 years' experience as a Canadian legal practitioner is required.
  • •Member of the BC Bar or eligible to be called is required.
  • •Experience in BC employment law and human rights matters is required.
  • •Experience in pension and/or privacy law is an asset.
