Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and support the transition from API RP 580 to API RP 581 RBI for refinery and petrochemical process units.
  • •Implement, validate, and migrate RBI models in GE-APM to reflect actual operating conditions, materials of construction, and process chemistry.
  • •Serve as the site RBI technical authority—governance, review, and approval of RBI studies and updates; support compliance and safe operating envelopes.
  • •Lead corrosion studies and damage mechanism reviews (DMR/DMI), including validation of corrosion rate/degradation models used in RBI.
  • •Develop and optimize risk-based inspection strategies, identify bad actors, and deliver hands-on training and mentoring to site RBI, inspection, and corrosion engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •BSc degree in engineering in mechanical (preferred).
  • •Over 10 years of experience in the petro-chemical industry.
  • •Experience transitioning from API RP 580 qualitative/semi-quantitative RBI to API RP 581 quantitative RBI for refinery and petrochemical process units.
  • •Ability to implement and validate API 581 RBI models in GE-APM with assumptions that reflect operating conditions, materials of construction, and process chemistry.
  • •Experience leading corrosion studies and damage mechanism reviews (DMR/DMI) and supporting RBI/asset integrity programs for onshore oil and gas facilities.
