Job Summary

Lead patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) strategy and coordination for the NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre, working across 11 research themes and regional/national stakeholders. Provide guidance, advice, and training to clinicians, academics, and public contributors; support event and communications delivery; build capacity in PPIE practice; and monitor activity, budgets, and reporting to ensure progress on time, to standard, and to agreed outputs.

Key Responsibilities

•Co-develop and maintain the NIHR Birmingham BRC PPIE strategy, supporting core team delivery and activity across the BRC.
•Provide advice, guidance, and training to clinicians, academics, and public contributors on public involvement and engagement.
•Co-develop communications, events, and other initiatives to promote patient and public involvement, including web and social media content.
•Create and support delivery of a PPIE project management plan, ensuring outputs are on time, to budget, and to agreed standards.
•Monitor PPI activity, gather feedback, manage PPIE budget/expenditure, and provide regular reports to the BRC Manager and committees.

Travel: Medium travel

Salary: GBP 36,636 - 46,049 annually

•First degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.

•Excellent organisational and time-management skills to manage and deliver multiple initiatives to tight deadlines.
