Job Summary

Own mechanical engineering work on transportation building projects for a multidisciplinary team. Design and develop mechanical systems, create plans, layouts, and preliminary cost estimates, and deliver coordinated, permit-ready designs. Work across HVAC, hydronic heating and cooling, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation while managing multiple concurrent projects and applying relevant codes and standards to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop mechanical systems for transportation building projects.
•Develop plans, layouts, and preliminary cost estimates to support project delivery and client objectives.
•Design building systems including HVAC, hydronic heating and cooling, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems.
•Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, designers, and 3D modellers to deliver coordinated, permit-ready, and tender-ready designs.
•Manage multiple concurrent projects and apply industry codes, standards, and best practices to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient engineering solutions.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with P.Eng. registration (PEO or eligible for registration in Canada).
•5+ years of experience designing mechanical systems for transportation building projects.
•Strong technical expertise in HVAC, hydronic systems, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems.
•Knowledge of codes and standards including OBC, ASHRAE, ASPE, NFPA, SMACNA, CSA, and AREMA.
•Experience coordinating in multidisciplinary project environments while managing competing priorities.
