Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide non-medical short-term counseling and consultation to adults, children, and youth of service members, including assessment, brief counseling, action planning, referrals, and follow-up.
  • •Support CDCs, DoDEA/community schools, youth programs, summer camps, and parent training/guidance for CYB services.
  • •Deliver training and health/wellness presentations and participate in health fairs and base/installation activities.
  • •Enter counselor activity data daily through a smartphone or web application while maintaining confidentiality and anonymity.
  • •Coordinate with installation and military branch points of contact to deliver Adult and CYB services within scope and respond to critical incidents and special requests as directed.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree in a mental health related field or social work from an accredited program.
  • •Current independent-level licensure as a mental health counselor/therapist/social worker meeting state requirements.
  • •Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling methods.
  • •Ability to prove US citizenship and must be fluent in English.
  • •Willingness to accept short-notice assignments of undefined periods, including weekends, and to cover assignments of varying length up to two weeks.
