Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical advice and plan and lead ecology surveys, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, UKHab surveys, and protected species surveys.
  • •Prepare tenders and contribute to ecological deliverables such as Ecological Management Plans, Protected Species Reports, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), biodiversity chapters of EIAs, and Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA).
  • •Support European Protected Species licence applications.
  • •Provide client liaison, and manage consultations and negotiation with regulators and stakeholders.
  • •Mentor and train the wider ecology team and contribute to a supportive working environment.

Key Requirements

  • •An appropriate academic qualification in a related discipline.
  • •Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (with mentoring available for upgrade to Full Membership).
  • •Experience undertaking PEAs, UKHab / habitat surveys, and protected species surveys.
  • •Protected species licence(s) or other specialist skill sets relevant to ecological consultancy.
  • •Experience producing fee quotations and tenders and contributing to technical ecological reports; ability to author Ecological Impact Assessments is desirable.
