Job Summary

Drive workplace health and safety across Keolis MHI by developing and maintaining management system elements, coordinating safety improvement programs, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, welfare, fire and electrical requirements. Lead safety leadership initiatives, manage risk assessments, incidents, audits, and training/assessment regimes, and maintain KPIs and management reporting. Coordinate consultation, stakeholder communications, environmental and human factors strategies, and support operational safety plans.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and maintain health and safety, operational safety, fire and electrical safety, and human factors management system elements; coordinate safety improvement programs and leadership initiatives.
•Ensure compliance with health, safety, welfare and fire legislation, staying current with relevant standards and best practice.
•Implement systems for timely accident/incident reporting and investigation; carry out audits/inspections and produce recommendations.
•Develop and maintain training and assessment regimes for health, safety and fire; ensure induction, competence management, and ongoing up-skilling.
•Manage risk assessments and emergency procedures (evacuation plans, safety signs, incident reporting), and review safety performance KPIs and management reports.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 5 years railway experience, preferably 2 years in a Health & Safety role.
•NEBOSH/IOSH Diploma.
•NEBOSH Fire Safety Cert.
•Good understanding of occupational health and safety standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, NFPA 130).
•Ability to communicate effectively and provide report writing and presentation skills.
