Key Responsibilities

  • •Underwrite new business and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets in line with underwriting guidelines.
  • •Negotiate participation, pricing, terms, and conditions with brokers, proactively managing regional portfolio capacity.
  • •Underwrite and evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, including understanding catastrophe modeling and interpretation of Nat Cat scenarios.
  • •Ensure underwriting aligns with LoB governance, including underwriting authorities, global underwriting guidelines, rules, and principles.
  • •Develop trusted broker relationships, identify evolving client needs, and propose tailored insurance solutions in coordination with distribution/client relationship teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Preferably a degree in Engineering, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • •Minimum 5 years of proven track record underwriting profitable engineering lines and construction business with in-depth understanding of the Line of Business (LoB).
  • •Specialized understanding of regional/local construction insurance markets and competitor landscape.
  • •Demonstrable established broker relationships at peer group level and well-established within the market.
  • •Good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework and ability to assess risk exposures and natural hazards relevant to the LoB.
