Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and operate compliant data-quality and active-learning pipelines for multimodal clinical data, including data contracts, de-identification workflows, validation/release gates, dataset versioning, readiness metrics, and traceable documentation.
  • •Collaborate with the Data and AI Platforms team and cross-functional stakeholders to create AI-enabled and non-AI software that becomes part of Philips products.
  • •Build active-learning loops that prioritize labeling and accelerate safe dataset improvement, including preprocessing, augmentation, feature extraction, embeddings, and handoff to the data platform.
  • •Work on modern data and AI engineering practices while growing expertise in regulated medical-device development, cloud platforms, synthetic/simulated data, and AI-assisted/agentic engineering workflows.
  • •Communicate progress, surface risks, resolve blockers, and share knowledge gaps with globally distributed technical, clinical, governance, and software stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of relevant individual-contributor experience in data quality, data engineering, or machine learning data pipelines, ideally in healthcare with medical imaging data.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, biomedical/health informatics, data science, mathematics, statistics, or related field; master’s (with 3+ relevant years) or doctorate also acceptable.
  • •Proficiency in Python and SQL for data extraction, transformation, validation, and automation, plus experience building scalable event-driven and batch data pipelines on AWS using distributed frameworks like Apache Spark or Ray.
  • •Hands-on experience with DICOM and PACS concepts, 2D/3D imaging volumes, de-identification, and PHI handling; familiarity with HIPAA and GDPR (HL7/FHIR is a plus).
  • •Active-learning expertise (uncertainty/diversity/error-based sampling, label-quality measurement, coverage analysis, bias/drift assessment) and familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools such as OpenAI Codex and Claude Code.
