Job Summary

Shape the technical direction of Alfa Laval’s Decanter R&D portfolio by setting design standards, identifying new technical opportunities, and translating complex requirements into actionable work for R&D teams. Drive design excellence through guidelines, quality control, compliance, documentation management, and risk mitigation. Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across R&D, Product, Supply Chain Development, and Service, and continuously improve design performance using lessons learned across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

•Set technical direction and design standards aligned to business objectives and user needs, including prioritizing technical opportunities for integration into the product.
•Establish and maintain design guidelines and policies for consistency and quality across the portfolio, and monitor technical debt for long-term sustainability.
•Implement design quality control processes to meet compliance and standardization requirements, including participating in claim investigations and coordinating risk mitigation.
•Manage and maintain product specifications, documentation, and systems throughout the entire product life cycle.
•Facilitate cross-functional communication between R&D, Product & Portfolio Management, Supply Chain Development, Service, and other teams, and drive continuous improvement using lessons learned.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
•Strong background in product design, development, and technical leadership.
•Experience with quality assurance, compliance, documentation, and standardization processes.
•Ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable plans.
•Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
