Job Function: Transportation & Fleet Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws, transporting loads safely and on schedule while following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Load and unload equipment by maneuvering truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas, following loading crew signals, and using specialized equipment as needed.
  • •Maintain required delivery documentation including signed invoices and shipping bills of lading, and deliver paperwork to the shipping office when routes are complete.
  • •Perform routine service checks on trucks (e.g., oil, water, gasoline, air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.
  • •Arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns and complete other assigned related duties.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial driver’s license (Class A CDL) or a chauffeur’s license (depending on state) for the vehicle weight you will operate.
  • •Pass background and drug testing required by federal/state DOT regulations, and pass a DOT physical for trucks over 10,000 lbs.
  • •Must be at least 21 years old to operate the company vehicle.
  • •Have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, speaking professionally with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Be able to travel frequently and meet physical requirements including lifting up to 40 pounds.
