Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop fire strategies for stations and associated ancillary buildings from concept through construction with code-compliant solutions and designs.
  • •Perform fire risk assessments for compliance with relevant Fire Safety Codes, and undertake Fire Risk Assessments or Site Audits as necessary.
  • •Design and specify fire safety systems including fire alarm and detection, fire suppression systems, and facilities for firefighter intervention (e.g., fire hydrant designs).
  • •Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and liaise with UK/internal design teams to deliver coherent and compliant design information, including organizing Qualitative Design Reviews (QDRs).
  • •Provide coaching and technical guidance to junior and senior team members, support staff development and training, and peer-review technical work.

Key Requirements

  • •BEng/BSc/MEng in Electrical/Mechanical/Fire Engineering.
  • •Minimum 15 years of experience in fire engineering.
  • •Working towards professional qualifications such as IEng or CEng status with CIBSE/IET/IFE.
  • •Strong capability delivering fire strategies and Fire Engineering designs from concept stage to construction.
  • •Experience with buildings, rail and/or road fire engineering and the ability to take a brief from a project lead and deliver within time and budget.
