Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain EMS/SCADA/DTS databases and related displays used to dispatch the power system; prepare reports explaining operation variances.
  • •Support multiple EMS subsystems (DAC, Historical Data, GUI, ICCP, Real-Time Calculations) and perform engineering studies using EMS tools.
  • •Develop and modify custom applications to meet changing operational requirements and customer needs.
  • •Provide disaster recovery planning and data backup for EMS infrastructure; ensure business continuity and regulatory compliance.
  • •Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for testing, training, and deployment of EMS upgrades and patches.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited program.
  • •Proficiency using a CAD program and ability to analyze, debug and develop software using C, C++, Fortran, Perl, Unix shell scripting and Visual Basic.
  • •Proficiency with operating systems (Unix, Windows-2000) and experience troubleshooting distributed networks.
  • •Knowledge of SQL and databases; ability to retrieve data via SQL/ODBC.
  • •Willingness for 24-hour standby and to work with vendors on EMS improvements and upgrades.
